10K 'Beat the Record' competition

There is a cash prize for the winning Male and/or Female runner if they beat the current 10K course record.

The cash prize for the 2012 event is:

£100 for beating the female record

£125 for beating the male record

  • The 'beat the record' cash prize was started in 2009.
  • The relevant cash prive is awarded to the winning Male and/or Female runner if they beat the current course record (see below).
  • The prize fund was initial started in 2009, with a prize of £50 for each record.
  • In the event that the relevant record is not broken, the cash prize for each record is increased by £25 for the following years event.
  • If a course record is broken, then the relevant prize fund is reset to £50 for the following years event.
  • The male record remains unbroken since the 'beat the record' competition started in 2009. The female record was broken in 2009 by Clare McKittrick (Charnwood AC)
